Into The Present! – A Sound & Yoga experience
Due to the popularity of this course and feedback from previous years, we have decided to bring it back in two fortnightly runs in 2020.

Spring run dates:
March 1st, 29th, April 19th, May 3rd, 17th & 31st, June 14th
Tickets are available here

Autumn run dates:
September 20th, October 4th, 18th, November 1st, 15th, 29th, December 13th

These sessions of sound work and yoga are designed to bring us, one energy centre or chakra at a time, to a place of deep connection and alignment to our own being, enabling us to truly inhabit and come Into The Present. At the start of each session with the help of some simple yoga poses we will locate each centre, one per session. There is no need for previous yoga experience and all the poses can be adjusted to suit individual needs. Then, taking time to set our intention and making ourselves comfortable, we will allow the sound of gongs, singing bowls and various percussion to find the way to where it is needed, gently loosening impacted energy, creating space and lightness and a sense of freedom so we return to the world more fully present to ourselves.

Our sessions will happen fortnightly on a Sunday afternoon 1.30-4.30pm at East Side Yoga Edinburgh, 109 Broughton Street, EH1 3RZ

The seven individual classes of this course form a unit, that is why we offer the dates as a package, although they can be taken individually as well. Three different rates are available for unemployed, low income and regular income. Payment in instalments is available on request, please contact us.

Feedback from previous participants:
“A great combination of focused yoga interspersed with soundwork and an hours deep sound bath to finish. Two masters at work. Perfect Sunday deep rest, healing and replenishment experience. The whole programme – boosting each chakra in turn – will be an highly nurturing personal development journey.”

“I thought it was a marvellous combination- yoga, chakras and music, little bit of neuroscience and affirmations. It was lovely. I really enjoyed the yoga- the small movements really allowed me to feel into my body. And the sound was just sublime.”

Base Chakra | The Base Chakra is connected to our fundamental needs like safety. When in balance, we feel that we belong and that our roots are connected with the right “soil” – essential to feel nourished and healthy. What sustains me in my life?

Sacral Chakra | The Sacral Chakra is the seat of joy, creativity and enthusiasm, the playful energy of the child. Balance here will be the source of our “gut feeling” – a positive judgment in right proportion to us and a sense of flow with our self. What brings me joy?

Solar Plexus Chakra | The Solar Plexus Chakra is the centre of ancient knowledge & wisdom. Our self worth and feeling of personal power stem from a balanced third Chakra. Linked to the element of fire, we can experience the burning fire of confidence. We are aware and sure of our place in the world and can confidently stand by our convictions. Where do I feel in my power?

Heart Chakra | The Heart Chakra links the higher, spiritual chakras with the lower, more physical ones and ensure that we meet the world with the right tone – one of unconditional love. True compassion and bringing our will into the world without attachment to desires and needs come from a balanced fourth Chakra. How do I touch the world and how does the world touch me?

Throat Chakra | The Throat Chakra is the seat of communication, speaking and hearing the truth, not filtered through the need of approval of others. A balanced throat Chakra lets us experience the joy of fearlessly taking responsibility for our truth. Can I speak the truth appropriately at all time?

Third Eye Chakra | The Third Eye Chakra is the centre of vision – into ourselves and beyond. It’s the point where conscious and unconscious mind meet and where we can see the world as it is, without judgement. If fully open, we feel inspired and connect to all possibilities. Where can you feel fully open and inspired?

Crown Chakra | The Crown Chakra is where the force of life enters our body, unlimited and free flowing, like our thoughts. It connects us with our spirituality and our higher self. Personal development and feelings of total peace and bliss are linked to a balanced seventh Chakra. Where do you take time to make that connection?
